Not all shampoo is clear, but I guess if they WERE different, it's because conditioner has more stuff in it. After all, shampoo is to clean your hair, why would you want to put a whole bunch of crap in it. My shampoo's not clear... maybe because one is soap based and the other is .... lotion based?
Because shampoo is ';cleaner'; (it cleans the hair, whereas conditioner conditions and is usually darker or ';dirtier';)

Because conditioner has moisturizer in it and the moisturizer has particles in it that allow colors
My shampoo isn't clear either. Pantene Pro-v for brunettes is strictly a shampoo and it is a brown color.
